Since this hasn't changed for some weeks now its a pretty safe guess they are down for good.

In their latest newsletter there are more bad news and more cuts for surfing pay4.com members:
"In order to strengthen our finances we need to levy all members' accounts. All accounts as at 31 December 2001 (prior to the payment of any cheques) with a balance of US$/Euro10 UK£6 or more will be levied US$/Euro5 UK$3, balances less than those amounts will be levied 50% of their current balance as will members who joined during January 2001 (to the maximum amounts shown above). The levy will be applied on the 9th of February."
And if you do not surf as paysU wishes you to, you are beeing charged:
"From 1st March a maximum levy of US$5/Euro5/UK£3 is charged against the balance on any account inactive for the previous one month. Accounts inactive for 90 days or more will be terminated. Inactive is deemed to be any account that has not been updated for at least 61 minutes of PaysStation activity or has not generated a minimum of 21 visits to PaysStart in each month."
So we would advice you to forget about this and leave the "community" asap - before they begin charging you for membership as well.

- MValue/Sweepsurf stops pay program
Another one bites the dust. This time it is the to SweepSurf mutated MValue:

investor
unexpectedly pulled out of the deal after the launch of
SweepSurf.
This was unfortunate and put us in a very difficult position.
Through
September, we made our best effort to raise additional capital.
However,
on Friday September 29th we were forced to shut down. Because
the operating

revenues, we
will not be able to make any MValue or SweepSurf payments. This
is a very
unfortunate situation and we sincerely apologize to you. At
this point,
unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done. If there are

International program to view websites. You are informed about "waiting" websites by way of a peace of software called adsenger (ads messenger) sitting in your pc's tray/taskbar. They have their download ready, but you will need IE installed and flash plugg in. They write about receiving emails as an alternative way, but that has to be confirmed ...
Showing ads is paused at this moment to allow mebers to download an install the software - at least that's what they say.

- Spedia
Changes: New spediabar for Netscape Navigator, Netscape Communicator (and MISIE of course). Hopefully this one does not disturb surfing as much as its predecessor. Sadly it doesn't. It slows down and distracts using the pc. Latest Spediabar update august 1st 2000.
One of the few program available for Netscape surfers. They do use cookies but you do not need to accept them to use their website. Logged in you have to type in your id and password with each page change if you decline their cookies, but you can access all pages. "Spedia.com, Inc. uses cookies to customize its ad stream services. "Cookies" are tiny text files written on a user's computer. The Spedia.com, Inc. servers use cookies to personally identify Spedia members and help them retreive sensitive information, such as balance and user info. Our users can always decline cookies if their browser permits it or delete cookie files at their discretion. However, SpediaBar may not function properly and we may have difficulties rendering services to our members." One of the Surfing seems to work - you have to change internet sites once a minute at least to get paid your 0,70 $ per hour maximum - turbo surfing ????.
Nachtrag: Neue Spediabar Ende August 2000.
Eines der wenigen Programme, die mit Netscape Navigator und Communicator funktionieren! Die Spedia Seite benutzt zwar Cookies, die müssen aber nicht akzeptiert werden. Nach dem Log in muß halt bei jedem Seitenwechsel innerhalb der Mitgliedsseiten ID und Kennwort neu eingegeben werden, aber alle Seiten sind erreichbar. Surfen funktioniert ohne Java/Cookies. Allerdings muß die besuchte Seite mindestens jede Minute gewechselt werden, um auf die 0,70$ pro Stunde zu kommen - lesen ist also mit spedia nicht :-(.
Negativ ist, daß der Spediabar zumindest beim Netscape Browser die Texteingabe stark stört.

OpinionBar is a dutch pay for opinion and pay for watching ads program. Its beta now and shows only dutch ads yet. But they will launch international soon, so start getting referrals. The bar is nice and small and you can either just watch or watch and rate the ads. Works without IE, Cookies and Java. But their website don't - frankly: it sucks!
